PARENTS OF AT-RISK TEENS/YOUNG ADULTS Greenwich, CT, March 1, 2010 - Michael Harmann, MSW, of Adolescent Behavioral Consulting announces an upcoming series of free workshops for parents of at-risk teens/young adults. The two-hour, evening workshops presented in a group discussion format, will focus on "Parent/Child Reciprocal Relationships" and will be offered in Greenwich (3/18), Stamford (3/25), Darien (3/31), New Canaan (4/15), Norwalk (4/22), Westport (4/29), Fairfield (5/6), Wilton (5/13), Weston (5/20), and Ridgefield (5/27). Serving as moderator of the group discussions, Harmann will provide participating parents with the opportunity to individually address their parenting challenges of their at-risk adolescents and will guide them to find solutions to their problems. Michael Harmann, received his Master of Social Work graduate degree from Columbia University and is the founder of Greenfield Lodge, a sober living residence in California. He recently launched his innovative new service, Adolescent Behavioral Consulting, which serves families throughout Fairfield County, Connecticut. His goal in establishing this consulting service is to help restore balance to families in the area with at-risk teens and at-risk young adults and to offer a service that fills in the gaps of traditional health-care options currently available. "Adolescent Behavioral Consulting offers dynamic and pervasive support for parents concerned with the safety and future of their children," says Harmann. "Our clients work with individual masters-level professionals who are available 24/7 to coach parents and to help them manage their troubled teens or young adults while leaving them in their present environment." The unique approach of Adolescent Behavioral Consulting gives families an alternative or supplementary means of bringing peace to families with children in varying degrees of crisis. Services of the firm include one-on-one teen/young adult mentoring, parent coaching, in-home assessments, referral services, recovery coaching, outpatient support, psychologist/psychiatrist therapy adherence support, and 24 hour on-call assistance. Harmann also offers preventative consulting sessions for families with pre-teens or young teens who are increasingly being exposed to the dangers of today's adolescence. "Parents need to know that they are not alone in their journey with their at-risk teen," says Harmann. "Through these workshops, I hope to bring parents together to not only help them with their issues, but also to help them explore their issues amongst a group of their peers experiencing similar situations.
